Shengjie Ling
Dr. Shengjie Ling is currently an assistant professor and PI in School of Physical Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University. He is also a research affiliate at MIT and Tufts University. He obtained his B.S. from the Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, China, and PhD from Fudan University, Shanghai, China. During 2012-2013, He awarded the State Scholarship Fund to pursue his study at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, as a joint PhD student. He did a postdoc training at MIT and Tufts University before joining ShanghaiTech University in September 2017. His current research interests lie at the intersection of smart fiber science and engineering, specifically fiber devices and biological fibers. His work involves using synchrotron characterization and computational modeling to understand structure-property-function relationships of natural and synthetic fibers and developing bioinspired & biomimetic fibers for electronic, environmental and biomedical applications.
